Subject	What gear for parking?

Message	So I've had this conversation with a few people now and seem to be in constant disagreement over it. What gear should you put your 5-speed in when leaving the car parked? Many argue that it should be in 1st, some say reverse, I think it should be 5th since that should provide the largest amount of resistance from a stand-still. What say ye? If you think it's something other than 5th, please try to explain it to me like I'm 5 years old. (Maybe I should post this to /r/ELI5)
